Dan C. Engel
Dan Engel is a Partner at CPC Search. He has managed search engine campaigns for various clients, including Citrix, Real.com, eDiets, Callwave, VistaPrint, and others. Prior to joining CPC Search, Dan led online advertising at Google, focusing on the company's primary products, AdSense and AdWords. Prior to Google, Dan was VP, Market Development for Picasa, a digital photo software company sold to Google in 2004, where he led online marketing and search engine initiatives.
Prior to Picasa, Dan marketed GoToMyPC software through search engine and other online marketing channels, generating tens of millions in revenue, building what is now a leading online consumer brand, and helping lead to a $225 million acquisition of GoToMyPC/Expertcity by Citrix Systems in 2003.
Dan serves as a search engine marketing advisor to the investment management industry, helping financial analysts follow the search industry. He has appeared in various publications, including The Boston Globe and The Wall Street Journal. Dan graduated from Tulane University's Freeman School of Business with a BS in Management and a concentration in Finance.
In 2006, Dan was named to Pacific Coast Business Times'40 under 40 list, which highlights 40 leading business people under 40 years of age.
Terry D. Whalen
Terry is a certified Google AdWords Professional and a partner at
CPC Search. Since early 2003, he
has managed
search & other online marketing channels that have generated millions
of dollars worth of revenue for clients such as Stamps.com, CitrixOnline, IdentityGuard.com, Autoweb.com, Tickle.com, SoftwareOnline.com, Stopzilla, Taleo and Pacific
Security Capital, among others. In addition to consumer marketing,
Terry also has deep expertise with B2B lead generation, including all
facets of search engine marketing, landing page development & split-testing,
and using disparate data sources to compute true cost/sale metrics.
Prior to founding his own online marketing company, Terry marketed GoToMyPC software through
search engines, ISPs, and other online marketing channels,
helping
to generate tens of millions in revenue, building what is now a leading
online consumer brand, and leading to a $225 million acquisition of
GoToMyPC/Expertcity by Citrix
Systems in 2003. From 1998 to 2001 he was CEO of Epitonic,
a 30-person online music company based in San Francisco. Epitonic
was backed with $3.5 million from CNET and
angel investors, and was sold in 2001 to Chris Blackwell's Palm Entertainment.
Terry received his MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business in 1998, and his BA in Political Economics from UC Berkeley in 1990.
